Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy
With CSR, companies consider future opportunities of people elsewhere in the world and of future generations. It means helping to create a sustainable environment and a sustainable world; Using local and global opportunities to create a better world for present and future generations.
Why CSR policy?
As an enterprise, Highlite wants to operate responsibly by committing to do its bit for society, not overburdening the environment, and treating its staff well. We want to ensure that we leave this world in a decent state for future generations.
Fossil fuels, which are used everywhere in the production chain, are finite and must be treated with much more care. We must move towards new ways of using energy, and that means investing in solar panels among other things. We need to reduce our carbon footprint, for example, by promoting cycling and encouraging the use of electric cars, raising awareness and responsibility.
The Dutch government and the international community consider it important that organisations comply with laws and international guidelines. By encouraging our suppliers to become ‘greener’ and/or to compensate for their use of energy and raw materials, we fulfil a social function and encourage everyone around us to be more responsible in their use of natural resources.
